Our web hosting on WIX expires May 8th. 

The cost to renew it is $192 US. 

I would like to ask the group to research our strategy moving forward. 

First, I believe that we need to be clear on how our website serves us and our intention for using it going forward.

I.e. - Is it really worth the cost to maintain and keep running? 

We have already agreed that Wix is not the path forward.

Therefore, we should research 3 or 4 other hosting providers that will serve our needs.

In searching for hosting providers, these are some of the things to be aware of:

- Do we want a self contained hosting provider similar to Wix or do we want to use a generic hosting provider that supports Wordpress?

- If we go to Wordpress, then we would need to rebuild/replicate our site from Wix to Wordpress. 

- As we do this, our site will experience some downtime during the transition but not more than 48 hours (DNS Migration)

Additionally, we need to add all necessary plugins on the Wordpress side for GDPR compliance, adding a privacy statement, cookie popup, google language site translator, SSL and Wordfence security features as they are no cost. 

Our initial cost of migrating with this solution may be near what the annual Wix renewal is, however we will make up the cost in less than 2 years.
